The Glenties Municipal District Councillors have sponsored the planting of 7 native Irish trees in 7 locations in the Municipal District & have dedicated each Garden of Remembrance to one signatory.
One of these trees was recently planted at Scoil Náisiunta Colmcille, Baile na Finne and the school children were on hand to help Cllr Enda Bonner, Chair of the Municipal District and Cllr. Maire Therese Gallagher, Chair of the Donegal Ireland 2016 Steering Committee plant a tree which has been dedicated to the memory of James Connolly one of the signatories of the Proclamation.
